Marketing Online: What is on-page and off-page optimisation?

In this marketing online blog we have seen previously that SEO was the process of optimising pages to make easily readable by search engines. In fact there are two types of optimisation, on-page and off-page.
On-pages is all about what you are doing on your site to give you credit in the eyes of the search engine.
- Writing content that is the more relevant to your targeted keywords but respecting the search engines guidelines.
- Creating the design of your website with a focus on your most important keywords
- Creating each page Meta tags including your targeted keywords.
- Using keywords as titles
The off-page optimisation process is all about what you are doing out of your own site, this means building link to improve your popularity and giving credit to your website. There are many ways to get links for free.
- Directory/Article submission
- Forums…
The more these links are relevant to your website the more it will help your website to grow in the search engine position listing. Depending on the competition you have on your targeted keywords, it will take more or less time to see changes. Building a reputation and gain credibility is a long term commitment.
