Search Engine Optimisation: an online marketing technique

Search engine optimisation well known as SEO, the purpose of this technique is to optimise all the technical aspects and web pages of a website to make him reach a top position in the search engines such as Google, Yahoo and MSN for targeted keywords and therefore get visitors. The leading search engine is Google which represent most of the traffic online. This internet marketing technique is not exact science and there is no books that can actually gives you all the rules to succeed, in fact even by doing all the bests practices there is no guarantee for being first. SEO is not advertising but a way for prospect to find a website easily without paying as an opposite to Pay per Click where you just need to pay for your site to be displayed.  In terms of cost is one of the most cost-effective method but one of the most time-consuming activity because achieving top position is one hard thing depending on your competition but you'll still need to maintain that result. So SEO need to be seen as a long term investment to be cost-optimised. The main point of SEO is for a website is to be seen as a reference on a subject by being referred by other websites.
